Dr. Peter Kuling

Dr. Peter Kuling is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, University of Ottawa.  He works with The Ottawa Hospital Academic Family Health Team (TOHAFHT).  Peter has served in various leadership roles including Lead Physician and Unit Director of the TOHAFHT, President, Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) and Chair, Canadian Medical Association (CMA) Political Action Committee.

As a faculty member of the CMA Physician Leadership Institute and of the Ontario College of Family Physicians, Peter delivers a range of leadership and best practice programs. Dr. Kuling is the 2017-19 co-chair of the OCFP's Practising Wisely: Reducing Unnecessary Testing and Treatment program. He is also an Expert Advisor for Accreditation Canada International and delivers leadership and quality improvement education sessions in various regions including the Middle East and the Caribbean.  He serves as Co-Lead, Family Medicine Demonstration Project, Ottawa-Shanghai Joint School of Medicine.

Peter has also lectured in Family Medicine and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) at the University of Fukui, Fukui City, Japan and was a visiting scholar in primary care departments at universities in The Netherlands and New Zealand.  He has also participated in international colloquia and conferences on primary care delivery models and leadership development for physicians.

Peter has attained the designation of Canadian Certified Physician Executive awarded by the Canadian Society of Physician Leaders and the CMA.  He has also completed the Advanced Health Leadership Program (AHLP) at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto including the AHLP London Study Tour, London, England.
