A resource guide
based on the CPSO's Policy #4-16 is now available to assist you in your practice. The new resource maps out what clinicians need to do from the first point of inquiry, to assessment of patient eligibility, to the actual provision of medical assistance in dying. It includes a checklist to ensure all steps are properly documented, and it includes useful links to other websites and background information. Also included is clarification on the point at which clinicians must refer a patient requesting medical assistance in dying if the clinician themselves is not comfortable in providing the service.
