CPD Event: Connected Leadership for Greater Competence, Confidence and Capacity

Leadership in primary care is critical both in individual practices and in larger health system transformation

On March 25, the OCFP invites you to its inaugural CPD day event for the Leadership in Primary Care Collaborative Mentoring Network, titled “Connected Leadership for Greater Competence, Confidence and Capacity

Held at the OHA Learning Centre in Toronto, this one-day event will explore the concept of “thinking together as leaders” and how it applies in practice. This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified for up to 5.25 Mainpro+ Credits.

Day at a Glance: This event will include a series of speakers, interactive sessions and facilitated conversations. For those who cannot travel, the first three sessions will be will be webcast for free.

  • Exploring the concept of the Patient Medical Home - Dr. Elizabeth Muggah, Assistant Professor, Director of Quality Improvement Department of Family Medicine Bruyere Academic FHT
  • Understanding the provincial context and what it means for primary care - Dr. Rueben Devlin, Chair & Special Advisor Premiers' Council on Improving Healthcare & Ending Hallway Medicine
  • Transformation networks to shape change - Dr. Robert Varnam, Head of General Practice Development at NHS England

Afternoon, in person only:

  • Thinking as leaders and how it applies to your practice - Penny Paucha, Principal & Founder, Instincts at Work 

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 5.25 Mainpro+ credits.

Not a Mentor or Mentee? This event is open to family physicians interested in learning more about leadership in primary care and the value of mentorship in leading change, but space is limited.
