Join the OCFP Board of Directors

Are You Passionate about Family Medicine?
The OCFP is recruiting up to two family physician Directors and one non-physician Director-at-Large for its Board of Directors.

Dear OCFP Colleagues,

Are you or someone you know passionate about family medicine and the importance of leadership?  If so, the Ontario College of Family Physicians Board of Directors could be a great opportunity for you.

The OCFP is dedicated to providing high-quality education and practice supports to its 10,500+ members and to promoting the unique contribution of family physicians at provincial policy and planning tables. Every year thousands of family physicians across Ontario participate in the OCFP’s evidence-based education programs and mentoring networks in mental health, pain and addictions. These programs are developed and delivered by family physicians for family physicians.

A key focus of the OCFP is to strengthen its programs and services to better support its family physician members. This is vitally important for our profession during a time of significant change in Ontario. Critical to this work is bringing more member voices and perspectives to the OCFP’s work through outreach and participation on working groups and committees, and to recruit members with a passion for family medicine leadership to serve on the Board of Directors.

We are recruiting up to two Directors this year to replace retiring Board members. We are also recruiting a Director-at-Large, which will bring to two the number of Directors-at-Large on the Board. To ensure the Board reflects
a range of perspectives, the OCFP is seeking members from different practice models, geographic regions, clinical backgrounds, years in practice and cultural perspectives.

"Through the OCFP board I have become involved in projects ranging from health policy, innovative technology, to celebrating family physicians all over Ontario. I am thrilled to be a part of the OCFP leadership where we work to build a stronger health care system for all patients."
